Goa Trip
Last to last weekend we were in Goa soaking the sun and relaxing ... and not to forget that once the sun went down, partying and drinking. It had been long since i last took a holiday. it was a welcome break.
Harsh was supposed to join us too but he had his own stupid problems which obviously were so personal that he wouldn't tell us about it. The trip was fun without him but it would have been even more crazy fun if he came along ... after all he is the craziest one.
HARSH ... WE MISSED U IN GOA
Reaching There: Me & Adarsh were supposed to reach Goa on the 4th of November, so we had to get a bus on the previous night (Bangalore - Goa: 16 hours bus journey overnight). Gunjan and Abhyuday were supposed to join us from Kolkata. We took the sleeper bus tickets. the so called berths were too small for two guys (one with a couple of extra pounds) but i couldn't help but think how perfect it would be for a couple (hehehe). we reached Panji at 12:30pm. Panji is the capital of Goa but it doesn't have any good beaches. Thanks to a lot of googling and some discussion with my sis (who visited Goa just a few months back) we had already a list of the must see beaches of Goa. (Bagha, Condolin. Anjuna etc) so off we went and after some 30 min cab ride we were at bagha beach. After looking at a few accommodation options we finalized "GOA SILA". it was no 5 star but was decent with clean rooms (before we entered it) a pool and complimentary breakfast.
Day 01: It was 3 pm and we were ready to explore Goa. that would have proved difficult on an empty stomach. Lunch was the first thing on our mind. For the first time ever i tried some non-veg food. i wouldn't say it was bad but it was nothing gr8 too. Veg food still rocks for me. The aluminum king had more important business to attend to so he was headed for Panji to attend ... any guesses ... some aluminum seminar. After our hunger satisfied and our thirst quenched (nothing beats some beer ... ok ok .. lots of beer) we headed for the beach. I must confess we were quite over dressed for any beach leave apart a beach full of firangi babes in bikinis. There were Bars and restaurants all along the beach. We checked them out trying to figure out the party spots. The sun, the sand and the babes ... wat was missing was alcohol. So we decided to lie down and enjoy some drinks.
By 5.30 our king has returned from his seminar. so we headed back to the hotel to prepare for the night. The walk back took us some 30 min. Sunsets on a beach are so romantic ... it constantly reminded me of my love. Wish she was there by my side.
All dressed up for Saturday night we left hotel at around 8.30. Had some snacks at a beach side restaurant and finally headed towards the only disc in bagha beach ... Teto's. The croud was not exactly as per our expectations ... too few gals. The music system and the light effects, though were worthy of a mention. The whole night we kept switching between Titos and the beach side bars before finally heading back to our hotel. it was way past midnight ... time to sleep.
Day 02: Day two began with me & Abu trying to get the other two boozoos up and ready in time for breakfast. We needed transport ... hiring a car seemed to be a good option. Before the fun could begin along came the aluminum king ... seminar seminar seminar. Showing some sympathy towards our beloved king we decided to drop him at Panji ... wat we got in return was a promise that he would not spend much time at the seminar (this trip was for pleasure ... and we intended to keep it that way). After dropping abu we drove around for some half hour ... basically heading no where. We stopped for lunch at a place known as the "Delhi Barbar" (u may find that there is an excessive mention about food ... what can i say ... i just loveeee foood). I must say that i did feel a little weird walking in a restaurant with shorts and a casual t-shirt on ... but who cared ... we were in Goa. Every one has heard about the local Goa drink ... Feni we all tried it (obviously except abu) and it was quite ... good. With abu back with us ... we decided to head back to Calingut Beack (adjacent to Bagha) This is the beach just next to Fort Agauda. One end of the beach is marked by rocky cliffs. It was less crowded as compared to Bagha.
It was now time for some water sports ... Para gliding was fun but Jet Skis were definitely better. Wow ... i would like to do that again...
This night our aim was to get drunk ... the whole night we hopped from one beach side bar to another.
Day 03: After our late night adventures morning was bound to come late ... this was our last day so we planned to relax and enjoy the sun and the sand ... We tool a ride to see some dolphins and had some fun in the water. The person who took us was some hell of a fellow. He took us to another beach ... Anjuna. This was a small beach with very few people and places to hang out. The water was crystal clear. After soaking the sun for sometime we headed back to Bagha beach where we spent the entire afternoon enjoying the waves.
I and Adarsh were supposed to leave tonight. Our bus was scheduled to leave at 7.30. So we headed back to the hotel packed our stuff got ready an decided to catch a quick bite before we left for Panji. We watched the sun go down as we finished our food ... it was time to say goodbye to Goa.
