Beefing Up Firefox

Here are a few way to beef up your Firefox.

THEMES

  • Azerty III 2.0 – This has a great collection of replacement icons for firefox. Its doesn’t change the color or anything just the icons. [Download it]

  • Azerty II 2.0 – The predecessor of the one mentioned above. Equally good collection of icons. [Download it]

  • Noia 2.0 (eXtreme) – If you like fancy themes this is one of the best I have come across. [Download it]

EXTENSIONS

  • Google Toolbar – If you Google this is a must have. Direct search for Gmail, Desktop, and Web. [Download it]

  • IE Tab – Lets you open a page in IE as a tab in Firefox. Quite useful if you happen to stumble upon a page that’s not Firefox compliant. [Download it]

  • StumbleUpon 2.2 – If you are online and looking for some interesting random pages this extension is for you. It adds a toolbar to Firefox. Whenever you click the Stumble button some random page as per your predefined interest is opened. [Download it]

  • Tab X – This is a life saver. In firefox if you need to close a tab you have to first choose it and in the process displaying the contents of the page (which you might not want). This extension adds a close button to every tab. [Download it]

  • AJAX Yahoo! Mail – If you have a yahoo mail account you should download this. It lets you see the content of your mail without leaving the inbox. Just click on the [+] sign to the left of the mail and it opens right there in your inbox. No matter how big the mail everything will be displayed including pictures. [Download it]

  • Image Toolbar 0.6.3 – Gives you the option to save, info about, copy and print a picture whenever you hover above the picture. [Download it]

  • Drag drop Upload – This is my favorite. We all hate the process of attaching files to web based emails. We have to do that one by one (browse – select - add). Now picture this you need to mail 10 pictures to your friend. Instead of doing this you select the 10 pictures from the explorer window and drag it to the text box for attachment and you are done. Sounds unbelievable … [Download it]

  • Hyperwords – Makes every word web enteractive. [Download it]

  • Firefox Showcase – Shows a thumbnail of all the tabs that are open in firefox. [Download it]

Hope you find the above Themes and Extensions useful.

Love - Heven or Hell

Was surfing through some blogs and came across this write up on Love. Its quite interesting.

“Have you ever been in love? Horrible, isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens your heart and it means someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses. You build up this whole armor, for years, so nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life...You give them a piece of you. They don't ask for it. They do something dumb one day like kiss you, or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so a simple phrase like 'maybe we should just be friends' or 'how very perceptive' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a body-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love.”

The above write up was copied from - http://speakup18.blogspot.com/

Though I don’t agree with the views fully but some of the facts can’t be denied. And I don’t hate love. Being in love can be as good as being in Heaven or as bad as being in Hell. Its all depends on what you make of it. So give love a chance. Fall in love atleast once in your lifetime.

A New Year Has Come

Happy New Year to you all. May all of us have a great 2006.

Mix great food, good music, cool friends and free booze … what you get is an awesome party. And that’s exactly what we had … A party to remember. 2006 started with a bang.

What to do on 31st was the top most item in my TO DO list since Christmas. After much turmoil and waiting for my friends I opted for the Shesha party at Nalban named the Morocco Night with Ridhima Sahanika & Varun. I had spend most of my new years with my friends in clubs or at their places. So there was obvious excitement about the Morocco Night party. I was hoping my other friends could join me to the party but none were ready (All had some problem or the other). Harsh was very eager to go initially but he finally said a no (I think his gal ditched him). Then I came to know that Sid was coming with three of his friends. That was kind of a relief. Its always good to have old friends around. Sid and his friends were awesome company, I really enjoyed with them. The party would have been half as much fun hadn’t it been for them. Thank you all.

Ridhima as usual was rocking the dance floor along with Farena and Sid. And I, as you might have guessed, was struggling to keep up.

Varun was perplexed about the sex of the Belly dancer.

Sahanika was busy with her PR. (this annoyed Varun a little … just a little)

Avinash couldn’t take off his eyes away from the Pole dancers.

Over all the party was great. We drank, ate and danced to our heart's content.
